Dr Vikrant Pandey, a 2005 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as secretary to chief minister Gujarat Bhupendra Patel. Pandey is serving as Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.
With this appointment, Avantika Singh Aulakh, who was serving as secretary to CM, has been promoted to additional principal secretary to CM. Aulakh, a 2003 batch officer, has been serving in CMO since September 2021.
With this, the total number of IAS officers in the Gujarat CMO has reached three; Additional Chief Secretary M K Das being the seniormost
Pandey is native of Rajasthan
A native of Jhalawar district in Rajasthan, Pandey is an MBBS doctor by education. He has studied medicine from Jodhpur Medical College before completing school education from government school in Hindi medium.
He has previously held key positions including collector Ahmedabad, Bharuch and Valsad among others.
Pandey was awarded with Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration when he was Bharuch collector.
